There will be NO excuse. We have what, 40m or so coming off the books next year?? There are certainly a handful of guys that could really help us who are FA's next year. However, I have a feeling that we are going to hear a lot of "he wasn't worth the money he was asking" and "he doesn't fit our plans right now."

There were some signings this year that would have helped us and were not given crazy contracts. It's clear that not spending is the primary concern....at least when it comes to spending it on the METS....casinos, hotels, restaurants, shops, etc. aside...

Not really , after they lose more money this year .... its time to cut payroll again.

BINGO!!! That is exactly what they will be saying come next January.

They are actually in the position where they will lose the benefit of the doubt with even the Koolaiders if they don't spend next year. At a minimum they need to sign two of the OF's. Think Granderson or Ellsbury to go with Pence or Choo

I'd honestly be shocked if they even reinvest HALF of the money that is coming off the books...another payroll cut....

I would want no part of Granderson....his 40 hrs would be 20-25 hrs at CF along with his 200 k's.....not worth it. Depending on Ellsbury's health this year, he would be a good pickup. Then add Pence or Choo. I'll bet we don't get ANY of those guys...

I would rank Granderson fourth in that group but I do feel they need to sign two unless they find someone via the trade route.

at most, they will try to sign choo or pence, one not both. ellsbury will cost too much. pence is better option because he is righty, but i have strong feeling sf will tie him up. choo, a boras guy, should hit market. as a korean he is a natural for flushing. and he can be a greeter at fred's casino. hahahaha. seriously, i like choo for rf, tho we will be too lefthanded.

that is why the Bourn move was so critical. Signing him would lessen the need to bring in multiple impact OF's next offseason. You have to figure Kirk/Duda or someone could take to LF leaving RF as the only hole with Bourn. Without you have the biggest mess of an OF in the sport
