without bourn 75 wins. with bourn 85 wins. it isn't that bourn alone means 10 wins. it is that he will make everyone better around him. wright and ike become 100 rbi men, he helps duda in lf, he helps all the pitchers, he gives a shot of confidence to the entire team, and while he doesn't get us over the top, he gets us closer to WC contention which means that at the deadline sandy will be motivated to seek legit help. sandy will have the chips, especially if guys like mejjia,fulmer,flores and others flourish at AAA and AA. suppose we add a guy like cuddyer or willingham at the deadline, maybe a big reliever. we might exceed 85 wins in that scenario. we cant predict at this point who will be available and what chips we would be willing to part with, but adding bourn potentially strengthens sandy's hand in a lot of ways.

Without Dickey, we're not going anywhere in 2013. Our OF is still a shambles,especially if we're counting on Duda,Kirk, Cowgill. Bourne won't make that much of a difference.
If Harvey and Wheeler show something,the future prospects brighten up a bit.
With FF still as closer, the bullpen is still bad,too. 40-yr old Hawkins with his lifetime 4.50 ERA? NOt a big help.
DArnaud is hopeful,but hasnt proven anything in the majors yet. Remember F-MArt? He was a can't-miss prospect at one time,too.

PItching hope for the future...that's what we have to pin our hopes on. 2013 is simply going to be letting the younguns play and hopefulyl develop. Hopefulyl we'll finish in front of the MArlins.

If Bourn helps to keep the Mets competitive by the deadline and the Mets add a big bat at the dealine they may be able to make a playoff run. If the Mets add pieces at the deadline, I could see better than 85.

Of course that also depends on Harvey, Niese, etc progressing and the BP being average.

Right now I would call 41-40 a success for this team.

80 wins without Bourn, 87 with Bourn.

Tell us how many we have with Dickey?

78 wins without Bourn, 84 wins with Bourn.

More like 80 without Bourn and 74 with him.

I don't know how you can Bourn doesn't make much of a difference, he would make a huge difference compared to what we have now.
