This is good news. These guys can provide some depth at Triple A, and allow them to bring up players like den Dekker instead of a foolish Bourn signing. Kudos to Sandy.

MDD is garbage. Why do you want our OF inundated with these scrubs?

He was the top hitting player at Double A for the first half of the season, and is known to be a defensive wizard. Bourn would end up disappointing us like all free agents do.

LOL... Yeah, but there is no harm in inviting guys to camps. Maybe you end up getting some value out of a few of them.

Patterson would be great off the bench as well as a good late inning defensive replacement and pinch runner.

Of course I want to sign him. I want to win! Don't you? Guess not. You'd rather keep this years Nimmo who can't even hit in Brooklyn, lose 90 games this year, and probably more in 2014.

Patterson seems like he's been around forever. He's only 33, which is not as old as I would have thought. I wonder if Patterson still has the wheels? This is a guy who had back to back 45/37 SB seasons in '06/'07, which ain't easy to do when your OBP is barely over .300. (And a lifetime OBP of .290. Ouch). And in 2010 he stole 21 bases in only 308 ABs (averages a steal every 14.6 AB).

This does make me think Bourne isn't coming though.
