" Bucerra has strength and above average raw power, but his bat draws mixed reviews. His swing can get long and has an uppercut, which may detract from his ability to hit for average. Bucerra is a plus runner who fits best in the outfield despite playing shortstop as an amature. He doesn't have the hands or arm for shortstop and figured to get to big for the position anyway. He fits in centerfield now and may have to shift to left if he loses speed when he fills out.

Bucerra is 6'4" tall and 190 lbs. He is only 19 years old, born Oct 1, 1994.

Then in that case I'd love to see how good he can get in five years. For an 18 year old he seems very promising.

Not unless Cowgill ends up in A ball. Bucerra is only 18, he won't be playing in the majors for a while yet.

Huge question mark with him is how he will recover mentally from his injury whether he can be the same player he was before.

25th on Toronto's prospect list. That sort of says he isn't much. This is classic grasping at straws. There is so little positive with the Mets at the major league level, that you get interested in some 18 year old in low A ball. Sadly, that says a lot about SA and the Wilpons.

No you just have to take any talk about the minors and twist it to say that it is the only bright spot in the organization. What a dooosh!

Grasping at straws? The guy was the fourth piece in the deal not the centerpiece. Two legit top prospects, an upgrade at catcher, and an upside OF is a nice haul for Dickey and scraps. And while I don't think Marcum replaces all of Dickey's production, I don't think Dickey was going to win 20 again this year (at least not on the Mets). Can he get you 12 wins while Dickey may have won 15-17? Assuming health, probably. This was a good deal regardless if they cash the lottery ticket on this kid, if he works out it's great.

No you don't understand if the kid is a prospect he is worth less than dirt in BabyJM's eyes. He thinks that one should never look to the minors for anything at all. The minors are only a place to stockpile trash that should be traded for an all star player, albeit 3 years or so past his prime, so that we can pay out a bunch of money to be disappointed. After all how could we ever be as disappointed with a player if he costs virtually nothing.

No. Maybe he'll correct all his problems and become Willie Mays. You can say that about any minor league Outfielder. However, it is FAR MORE LIKELY, that this guy never even reaches AAA than become a 5th outfielder on a bad team.
