Why not just sign Scott Podsednik and play him in center instead of giving
a draft choice for Michael Bourn.

What is wrong with Podsednick, considering the other available suspects? He still can hit and steal a few bases. He won't cost a Boras' ransom.

A minor league deal is low risk. He's no spring chicken, that's for sure. Heck, we are signing Marlon Byrd, a few years younger, but PED free.

We could use a righty bat for sure. I checked his splits and through his career he pretty much hit righties and lefties the same, so in this case it doesn't really matter..
