Starters ERA
Gnts 3.40
Braves 3.75
Phils 3.82
Mets 3.832B

Gnats clear ahead but the Mets, Phils and Braves all very close and we lost a number of guys to the DL, We lost Dickey but get a full season of Harvey, Get Gee back and Santana had a better ERA after 16 games then Dickey did hopefully antother year removed will help his stay strong all season.

Pen
We know the pen was horrid but they got rid of a lot of the trash

For offense gonna combine RBI/Runs while subtracting HRs, This is one way to do Runs created

1st B
Braves 166
Gnats 167
Mets 148 (remember Ike was bad the first two months)

2B
Braves 152
Gnats 124
Mets 138

SS
Gnats 156
Mets 112
Braves 99

3B
Gnats 169
Braves 103
Mets 170

From the 4 spots returning
Braves 520
Mets 568
Gnats 616

C
Braves 124
Mets 84
Gnats 111

One area we were well below the Braves and Gnats but TDA and Buck should help even that out.

OF
LF Were Bay killed us
Braves 144
Gnats 122
Mets 126 (and Bay is GONE! even if we went with Duda we are better)

CF
Braves 194
Mets 126 ( UGGG byt torres is gone)
Gnats 142

RF
Braves 185
Mets 122
Gnats 139

We improved in at C and addition by subtraction should be better in the OF even before any new talent comes in.

If the pen can be decent we can contend.

Dude do you really not know what runs created means? It is not my stat, Guessing you dont know very much about baseball so here is a little info for you, When you hit a HR (call it a solo shot)you score a run and get an RBI but you did not create 2 runs so HRS are subtracted to get a true idea of what said position created.

PS Runs created is generally accepted, There is also RC27.

There are a couple ways to look at RC, some also factor in any part of a run they created such as hits and sacs but I dont have the time to do the math on that.

Why do you disregard Halladay missing part of the season when assessing the staff ERAs?

Why do you disregard Werth missing half the season?

How can you compare a historic year by Dickey to Harvey's second season?

Why do you not factor in Strasburg and Harper developing?

Why do you not factor in a healthy season of McCann?

MY BAD:

Variations: There are other run estimators that do a better job then Runs Created, yet one of the main advantage of Runs Created is that it’s extremely easy to calculate. Other run estimators include: Batting Runs, Base Runs, Extrapolated Runs, Estimated Runs Produced, Equivalent Runs.

Extremely Easy to calculate .. I can see why you used it.....

I prefer wins/losses, its the bottom line.

You're only as good as your pitching.

"We lost Dickey but get a full season of Harvey, Get Gee back and Santana had a better ERA after 16 games then Dickey did hopefully antother year removed will help his stay strong all season."

This is a lot of "ifs." Probably too many. Also, don't be surprised if Harvey takes some lumps early on as hitters adjust to him. Hopefully, he'll readjust (I expect he will), but it may be a rocky road in his first full year in the majors.

"Pen
We know the pen was horrid but they got rid of a lot of the trash"

And replaced them with....??? So, now we have holes instead of trash. Bullpen is still a big problem. Familia, Edgin and Carson all have potential, but really have to show me more before I'm convinced.

Hard to see the Mets coming in anything other than 4th again in the NL East. But, time will tell. That's why they play the games.

Not too sure about that "runs created" stat.

How would that be affected in a stadium like Yankee stadium or CBP, where many runs are created by HR?

I'm gone for months - I come back and you're still flying with a dead stick.

Braves, Nats, & Mets???????

Shouldn't the Mets be compared with Miami?

And where are the Phillies?

The best team in baseball from 2007-2011. 81 wins last year with Halladay, Utley, & Howard out most of the year. Five better-than-average pickups during the offseason. I'll ask again---are you still in your teens?

Perspective: The Phillies win 81 games in 2012 = A disgrace for that team.

Mets win 81 games = A ticker-tape parade down Broadway.

PS - TheMets are still 40,000 lite-years behind the Phillies-----until proven otherwise.
