How can you even say hawpe or rayburn would not have been upgrades to our outfield?

Hawpe is 32 and hasn't played in anything approaching a full season since 2009.

Raburn is also around 32, has NEVER played a full season, as overall bad to mediocre (at best) 162-game numbers. Awful OBP, little power, no speed.

Are they an upgrade? Maybe (assuming either of them is capable of playing a full season). But you really want them? Getting them would make you happy?

true. mets already have a group of outfielders that can give us lousy, partial or full seasons for league minimum.

A MINOR LEAGUE DEAL. I am not saying these guys will save us! Im saying these guys have an invitation to spring training and this might sound crazy but let them try out! the worst thing that could happen is one really impresses you and makes the team. If not just cut em.
