2012 was certainly a great year for David: he rebounded back to All-Star form, broke many Mets records, signed a lucrative contract, and got engaged to his model girlfriend over the holiday season. Well done, D. Wright!
From A Bronx Tale:
Young Calogero: Bill Mazeroski, I hate him. He made Mickey Mantle cry. The papers said the Mick cried.
Sonny: Mickey Mantle? That's what you're upset about? Mantle makes $100,000 a year. How much does your father make? If your dad ever can't pay the rent and needs money, go ask Mickey Mantle. See what happens. Mickey Mantle don't care about you. Why care about him?
Calogero: [narrating] After that, I never felt the same way about the Yankees.
Antcumia, a lot of people care about total strangers. For example, how can anybody not care about the people of Newtown even if they've never met anybody from there?
How about when thousands of donations pour in to victims of Hurricanes Katrina or Sandy, the tsunami in Japan, etc. This is clearly caring for strangers.
Also, the posts started yesterday by people saying RIP Earl Weaver and Stan Musial were most likely strangers to the Hall of Famers, but it certainly was a kind gesture on their part.
I don't think there's anything wrong with wishing good things for the happy newly-engaged couple as I did when I started this post.
"Good for David. Molly Beers is a smokeshow!"
so what? not to be a jerk but i never got why ppl get happy for these guys when they married, have a baby, etc.Patrick Ewing said it best.well remember them the rest of our lives, theyll forget about us 5 seconds after they get in the car.thats even if you ever were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and meet any of them.
his girl is hot though.
Uh, maybe you could find out where she's registered and maybe a place-setting or maybe a silverware pattern.
Mazel tov, David and Molly!
