Yes, it is an opportunity to play for the NY Mets. That is obvious. What the Mets are trying to do and his long term role at $6M is not so obvious.

He could say, "I'm pleased as punch to be riding in the White House elevator"

He could've said that he's happy to swing and miss in 75% of his at bats' in NY, and how Citi will kill all his fly balls, and how he doesn't have a clue about our pitching staff.
