""I'm excited for the opportunity to come here and to be a part of what the Mets are trying to do," he said. "This team -- this organization -- obviously they've got a rich history. I couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of it, of helping this team and this organization move forward and improve. And for the organization to kind of pick me to be a part of the position I'm at, to help move forward with some of the young pitchers and stuff, I think it's an opportunity for myself to play for the New York Mets."
i wonder if he realizes its prob just one year and he was only included to offset dickeys salary from my understanding.
glad hes excited to be here though.
He could've said that he's happy to swing and miss in 75% of his at bats' in NY, and how Citi will kill all his fly balls, and how he doesn't have a clue about our pitching staff.
Would that have been better?
Uhh...What did you expect him to say? "God, I wish I was still with the Jays. A franchise that's trying to win, will at least be a contender this year, and not a team that could lose 100 games, like the miserable team I was traded too."
Probably what he really thinks though.
