I am a huge fan of his and didn't want him to be traded. However, I do think it's a possible in a couple of years when Wheeler is up along with Harvey and if Syndergaard is ready or close to ready by then along with Fulmer as well. I mean, you can't be for sure that many pitchers will pan out, but I do think Niese may become a little more expendable at that point. So I think that he may be a big piece at that point to land a big time bat that's young like our new future catcher, TD. I still am really scratching my head, though, at who the Mets envision as their future closer. To build a contender year in, year out, you have to have that as much as anything else.
