Has any team in MLB history (other than the Mets) had both a batting champion and a Cy Young award winner in successive years, yet had neither of them on the team the season following their individual accomplishment?

It is hard to believe that the mets had both a batting champion and a cy young award winner in successive years and that neither remained on the team the year following their individual accomplishment. What is just as strange is that both players wound up on the same Al team and that the mets do not have one starter in return for opening day , 2013- unless John Buck is the starting catcher on April fools day.

In my day, Albert "Goodwill" Spalding would have won the won the Cy Young several times, only that the award, not to mention Cy himself, did not exist yet. Teammate, Ross Barnes, won the batting title and was traded from Boston to Chicago the year before Albert was also traded from Boston to Chicago.

We dot needs batting champs and CY winners, we got prospects who are going to be totally RAD in 5 or six years!!!
