Yes I will be sad to see if him go..I liked him...but you know what...

I liked Beltran...I got over it...
I liked Reyes....I got over it...
I liked Pedro....I got over it...

The list goes on and on....why....

BECAUSE I AM A METS FAN!!!!

Players come and go but the team will always (hopefully) be here...

And if this move will help us in years to come, not only with money down the road but the future (player wise with who we are getting) I am all for it and as much as liked Dickey I will get over it...

So should everyone else and stop complaining...Dickey is 38 years old ..Yes knucleballers last longer but he is not a true knuckle baller..he throws harder and puts more strain on his body..He may very well win another Cy young...But he may very well stink next year...in any even 4-5 years he wont be a cy young winner plain and simple...we have a chance to have All -star caliber young players (hopefully they pan out).....

This is a no brainer

You are missing the bigger consolation prize, he will be fighting the Yankees.

Very few people actually saw those comments as a negative. The whole thing made the Mets look bad, not him.

Its a little bit negotiation posturing too. When you hint that the team might be starting to maybe not burn a bridge, but starting the process of eroding it a little bit.... you can force them into another phase.

Leverage, always leverage.
