He did say unconfirmed but that is what he's heard. The question will be how reliable is that source. Clearly not high enough that he needs to confirm it still

If it's straight up, then Mets made a great deal. If there are more pieces, then either Mets are sending back players or the Mets dominated the deal.

Depends on the pieces and the total return.

John Perrotto ?@jperrotto
Am told #BlueJays will not give up Travis d'Arnaud in any trade with #Mets for R.A. Dickey.

Sorry, not meaning to be. I'm just saying, both are contradicting reports.

I really hope its not, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Haven't seen much mention of this..."8:00 pm: Jays had been insisting on Niese, not Dickey, in talks for D’Arnaud, so I’m fascinated by how this might be playing out (Matthew Cerrone)."

The Mets don't have to make a trade now. They can sign Dickey to an extension and trade him at the deadline or maybe not at all. It is not the Mets trying to dump R.A. it is the Jays needing a starting pitcher to compete with the O's, Yanks and Boston this coming year. So the Mets are in the drivers seat.

In that case, I'd rather the Jays just sign Marcum and keep our prospects.

Not a fan of putting all your eggs in one basket. We've dealt away considerable depth already. After TDA, our position player depth is very meh.

Johnson
Buerhle
Morrow
Marcum
Romero

Thats a decent 1-5, with Happ as depth.
