    • What Outfielders are still left for us to acquire?

Besides hopefully resigning Hairston to play LF with Duda, is there anybody left for us to sign to play Right field? somebody that can hit 25 HRs and knock in 90. Cody Ross is still out there. Any other suggestions?

Ross has been mainly a 12-14 HR, .265 guy throughout his career. He hit 22 with Boston last year, but Citi is a bit tougher than Fenway.

"Ross has been mainly a 12-14 HR, .265 guy throughout his career. "

2008 22 HRs
2009 24 HRs
2010 14 HRs
2011 14 HRs
2012 22 HRs

I don't see how that translates into a 12 - 14 HR per year and 2008 and 2009 wasn't in Fenway.

Didn't go back to the Marlins days. I under reported his HRs.

I looked at the Sun Life Stadium dimensions and the dimensions are 10-20 feet shorter in the LC power alleys. He's a career .262 hitter, .324 OBP.

He's an improvement over what the Mets currently have, but I don't see him as a difference maker, especially in Citi.

Torres is still out there, Alfredo Amezaga, Austin Kearns, Andruw Jones, Matt Diaz....

We could probably get any of those guys for around 2 million per year, and they could hit around .240 with 5 homers and a .650 OPS and provide terrible defense. I think signing one or two of these guys would fit right in with the "plan".

I believe SA will wait until Mid January to start signing Free Agents because the left overs will probably take minor league deals and compete for roster spots. These are they type of deals that SA is looking for.

Won't matter, when Kirk goes down because he needs surgery on his foot, the scrub conga will begin.

So you're saying you don't want Hamilton, you are not a true fan.

I do want Hamilton. I just didn't think that there is a remote possibility.

I like Corey Hart. Would take him if it didn't cost a whole lot. but I am not hopeful.

Cody Ross would be a nice addition. But I am not worried about outfielders for 2013. We have to keep our pitching staff well stockpiled, and move from there. The temptation to trade Dickey or Niese should be resisted, since we can add a position player or two later on, plus a catcher next winter.

I am looking forward to competing in 2014. We can not build Rome in a day, all at once.... gotta take this a step at a time... too many holes, and creating new holes via trade isn't going to win a championship.

Saz this list should tell everyone that outfielders are dime a dozen. How foolish it is to even consider throwing away RA for one "impact player". An ace for a position player/ prospects?????? I can not believe this insanity. Sandy must be out of his mind!

2012 World Champ Giants RF = 18 HRs (80 RBIs)

AL Champ Tigers RF = 13 HRs (66 RBIs)

NLE Champ Nats RF = 19 HRs (69 RBIs)

Yankees RF = 22 HRs (85 RBIs)

Tampa Bay Rays RF = 19 HRs (75 RBIs)

Mets RF ranked #24 of 30 MLB teams. Just need to get AVERAGE. Rank #11-20. SF's RF ranked #20 in 2012. If they can get in top 10 RF that'd be great!!! But just NEED to get to middle of the pack to win more gms.

Winning is MUCH more about PITCHING than HRs & RBIs!!!

Mets scored 13 more runs than LAD. But Dodgers had 12 more wins!! Only missed playoffs by 2 gms (LAD = 86 wins / STL = 88 wins). CIN scored just 19 more runs than Mets. But had TWENTY-THREE more wins!!! MIL scored 176 more runs than Mets. But ONLY 4 more wins!!!

PITCHING!!! PITCHING!!! PITCHING!!!
