People need to realize that what was once perceived a 'bad contract' is going to become the norm, if it hasn't already.

Dodgers get a huge TV contract because they play in the second biggest market, other teams won't come close to that.

But the Dodgers will be well above 200 million once they extend Kershaw... That's a lot of money. Other teams may not have AS much, but contracts are going to look different from here on out.

Nothing surprising about this, contracts weren't this high a decade ago, it's only natural contract prices are going to rise as time goes on.

Where is the biggest market?

Aren't the Mets owners hurting right now? The new Dodger owners are likely going to pull in a 6-7 billion dollar TV contract over 25 years. So when you think about it a 200 million dollar payroll is really not that extraordinary if Fox or TWC is willing to pay that much.

I wish the Mets well in the future.

But they still do not have a roster that will take them places.

Wait until the new luxury tax hits after next year. All team will want to stay below that cap. The costs will be punishing to say the least.

and starting in 2016, half the teams in mlb wont get revenue sharing anymore, but will still fully contribute to it.
