Good player, good numbers. Would be playing out of position, but have read outfield isn't totally lost on him. Him + others in a trade wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

If Rangers offer the trade I take it without hesitating, then I would immediately start looking to swap him to a team that needs a 3rd baseman.

Why would the Royals do that? They have a need at pitcher, not prospect at 3b.

The key to Myers is a starting pitcher. We don't flip Dickey for Olt and expect Myers.

Two relievers, one's a minor leaguer.

The Young trade doesn't change the Rangers need for starting pitching.

I think the reality is there is no mets and myers. They won't do niese without something else significant, and they certainly won't do a straight up for dickey.

True. Jason Stark was saying today that one of the Rangers off season plans was that if they missed out on Grenike, then they'd sign Hamilton, and then used their chips to trade for a starter.

I think you have a slightly misguided opinion of the pitching market and how bargaining works. You've been reading these boards for too long.
