When Omar was here they all complained that they overpaid for superstars and traded all their young talent, and now that they are trying to build up the farm system and building for the future and trying to make a team that will win long term they call The Wilpons "The Coupons" and say that they don't care about winning they just want to make money.

The Wilpons love having complacent fans like yourself who don't care about winning.

Ah yes so what do you call 4th place finishes under the SA regime? The only trade that SA has done that can be pretty decent is the Beltran trade other than that he has done nothing. This is NY we are not the Pirates or Royals.

Renafan doesn't care about winning. Never did and never will. Only wants to brag about being the most loyal fan.

Oh, they're trying to build the farm system you say?

A) Didn't deal Reyes.
B) Didn't deal Wright (this one I get, but point still stands)
C) Didn't even deal Hairston who was garnering interest last season
D) Deferred contracts to future years, when we HOPE the team will be any good, instead of paying them now on what will likely be a terrible team
E) Actually thinking about re-signing Dickey, which is a complete joke.

Yeah they're trying real hard. Other then the Wheeler trade, this team has done virtually nothing to 'build up the farm system'.

G) Didn't sign thier 2nd round supplemental pick in 2012.
H) Didn't max out thier draft spending in 2012.

Wow, your "building the team through the farm" argument just got dismantled.

What are you a fan of? Losing, ineptitude, mediocrity?

Ohh man completely forgot about that.

Actually, they didn't sign their second OVERALL pick last year. Some rebuild.

And David Wright who doesn't care about winning either. And RA Dickey too.

Wright can't handle pressure. He knows we won't be in contention any time soon. That's why he stayed. Also, he probably knows that he is not the same player he was before Matt Cain boddied his career. One more sub-par season, and Wright's value would plummet.

Nats record since being bought by Ted Lerner August 2006:

2006: 71-91 (last place NLE)

2007: 73-89 (4th place NLE)

2008: 59-102 (WORST record in baseball)

2009: 59-103 (WORST record in baseball)

2010: 69-93 (last place NLE)

2011: 80-81 (3rd place NLE)

2012: 98-64 (1st place NLE)

Took 5 yrs for Nats just to get to .500. Nats finished in last place 4 of 6 yrs since team started rebuild. 2 straight yrs w/ WORST record in majors!!

Alderson's only been on the job 2 seasons (hired Oct 29, 2010). Inherited team that was 4th place 2 seasons in a row before he started. But somehow Alderson was supposed to get Mets into playoffs by now?

How could Alderson do what Nats GMs/ new owner (w/ plenty of $$$) COULDN'T???

Batting over .300 is "sub par"? I wish Mets had 24 more "sub par" players then!!!

Oh look who's copying and pasting again.

Yes, we know it took the Nationals 5 years... But everyone knew they were rebuilding and they acted like it.

Tell me, what has this team done to prove that it's rebuilding?

During their rebuild the Nats spent $50 million on the amateur draft.

"Tell me, what has this team done to prove that it's rebuilding?"

I understand your point, but I wonder what signs were there in 2007 that the Nats were rebuilding?

THey actually finished better that year than the next few.
