Previously silent at the Winter Meetings, Team President Jeff Wilpon announced the Mets were close to inking Paul Revere to a five year contract. The only thing standing in the deal's way is whether the Mets will allow Revere to park his horse in the parking lot. Right now, Fred Wilpon is against the deal, fearing the horse will drive down attendance, especially if he's been fed too many oats too close to game time. As a way of helping the deal along, Sandy Alderson has agreed to buy ten pounds of oats for Revere's horse just as long as his faithful sidekick is fed AFTER each game.
Now, this is the kind of deal I've been hoping the Mets could make. I bet that horse could make up alot of ground playing centerfield for us.
