If we can fill mulitple holes such as getting 3 players or a real impact player such as D'Arnaud or Myers then absolutely yes. Guys, you all realize he is asking for 3 year contract beyond next year at 45 mil right? That's a lot of dough for a 42 year old at the end of contract.

I say give him the years. My contract proposal would be 2 yrs/$ 25 mil guaranteed. 2 yrs of mutual options at $15 mil/yr with a $1 mil buyout. He gets the yrs he wants and we are only paying the last 2 yrs if can still perform at a high level. He should be among the best for at least 2 yrs.
