I'd roll the dice on him for a 1 or 2 year deal, since he doesn't seem to be attracting much interest and could be had for relatively cheap. He's a legitimate power threat at catcher, and would open up our options in regards to Dickey.

Unless they were the only team to make an offer, would you sign with the Mets if you were Pierzynski?

I wish the Mets were interested. He would be a solid 2 year pickup with a 3rd year option. Met's would not have to worry about the current catcher problem and work on drafting or trading for a young catcher who can develop while we have Pierzynski. The market seems small for Pierzynski too, I would want to try and sign him before other teams run out of options and go after him. I would give him a 2 year deal, not too much money in 2013 so the payroll stays flexible, but mainly in 2014 when there is more money to spend. Pierzynski and a right-handed outfielder (worth having) would make this team more competitive for 2013.
