Remember him? The dimunitive lefthander the Mets got back for K-Rod? He was pretty effective for the Mets, then got himself hurt last season. Anyone know if he's healthy and still with the Mets?

He is still in the Mets system in AAA, had season ending Tommy John last year, lucky if he will be ready by spring, not sure if he will be as effective because the screwball may be scrapped after the surgery. Still has 5 pitches though without the screwball, I hope he gets another shot.

Herrera throws six pitches. He has three fastballs — a four-seamer (83–86 mph, tops out at 88), a two-seamer (82–85), and a cutter (81–84) — as well as a curveball (75–78), a changeup (75–77), and a screwball (67–70). Herrera throws all of his pitches to hitters from both sides of the plate, with the exception of the changeup (which is only used against right-handed hitters). The screwball is his most common pitch in 2-strike counts, especially to righties. His most common pitch against left-handers as a whole is his curveball.

Thanks for the update. I hope he gets another shot, too. Seemed like lots of people underrated him because of his size.

He will not be a factor for the Mets.. Carson and Edgin passed him by the organizational bull pen lefty department.. if they falter they were talking about converting Gorski into a lefty specialist.. Byrdak will try to come back at the end of the year.. Don't see him as more than a triple-a roster filler..
