Scott Hairston says it’s “probable” he could return to the Mets

In a report for ESPN New York, Adam Rubin says the Giants, Cardinals, Indians and Tigers have shown “real interest’ in Scott Hairston.

Hairston told Rubin it was still “probable” he could return to the Mets, although it remains to be seen whether or not they offer market value for his services.

I just can't see it happening.

That has since been discredited, No such offer.

Time will tell, I think the mets see better short term options but if he takes a one year deal bring him back.

I don't think "probable" and "could" make much sense together.

I thought about that as well but in a later report it was said he feels he might have a bigger role on the Mets then with the other teams interested, Id give him a two hyear deal with a vesting option, He earned it.

It's probable he could return? Well that clears things up.

Hairston as a Met, a guy who will hit 15-20 dingers off lefties, struggles mightily against righties.

Hairston as a Cardinal, 40/40 guy runner up MVP, at or below "cost".

Well they saved $5M+ letting Pelfrey go so they could possibly use some of that
I wonder what Hairston is worth on the market (Pagan got $10M a year so
I'd guess Hairston has to be at least near $5M?),

Also would Hairston be willing to be a platoon players (not an everyday starter?)
b.c I do like the idea of a Hairston/Duda platoon in LF (they hit a combined 35HRs last season,
which was a pretty high percentage of the Mets total HRs (probably 1/4).
