Coming off TJ surgery he might be a risk, but it will be interesting to see what kind of value he still has on the market. Might be worth pursuing, if for no other reason than if we make a run at the playoffs it will be fun to see guys like David Wright sporting a huge black Amish beard as an act of solidarity. ;^)

Ehhh I don't think he would be good value on the open market. You are overpaying for a beard and a decent Zach galifianakis impersonation. Then again I'm not a fan of buying big money free agent closers to begin with.

We'll see what kind of offers he gets. Maybe teams learned from the Gagne experience not to throw a guy who just came off TJ a $10mil deal.

Forget him. Mets should look into Jesus Flores and Soto.
