Pelfrey officially non-tendered. Maybe now he can succeed without Warthen. Hopefully Warthen doesn't mess up Wheeler next.

What is the strength of this Mets team?

It's not Warthen. Pelfrey is the albatross, all the same under Rick Peterson. He is unable to respond to adjustments, nothing works, not even reverting back to his former deliveries.. He frustrates his coaches, his managers, himself, and the fans.

Yeah I'm not going to miss him. That said, I don't like Warthen either. Not sure why he's stuck around this long.

Unless Pelfrey was unable to progress as a pitcher because his elbow had been bothering him longer than has been reported, there is no reason to believe that he will all of a sudden become a good pitcher. We have seen his stuff diminish since he came into the league, he still has no quality secondary pitches, and he is still a mental case on the mound. Forget him. If he pitches well elsewhere, good for him, but there isn't a snow ball's chance in heck that he was going to do that for this team.
