I'm going to say 2562 hits and 340 HR. That should be good enough for the Hall at some point.

I project Wright will play past this 8-year deal, until age 39, or 10 seasons total

I project at least 5-years of an average of 170 hits, and 2-years of an average of 160 hits.

The last three years of his career won't be great, around an average of 140 hits.

3,016 Hits and 386 Home Runs.

That's possible. Maybe a Craig Biggio type of situation. It depends on if the Mets are willing to stick with shoddy defense at 3rd and poorer hitting at age 38 and 39 on top of the poorer seasons at 36 and 37. You'd have to take a production cut for four years probably.

If they're willing to do that then I think that's possible.

If it were me I'd put him out there until he decides to quit. But if he's hitting .240 at age 39, and in NY, there's going to be a ton of pressure to replace him.

Exactly.

I think he'll be close enough to stick around for a couple seasons to get it even though his stats won't be very good those years.

"Predict Wright's career H and HR's"

Predict the lottery. Why don't we simply enjoy what Wright brings to this team.

And you know this, how? Its time to get back into your time machine. The Eloi need you.

Fewer than the # of wins we can thank him for.

Guess we should thank him for the wins and over look the losses... (rolls eyes)

Even Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth cost their teams some wins. Wright will help us more than hurt us.
