He's one of the premier third basemen in the league. Wright got what he deserved. He got it from the team he wants to play for. And he's going to be here when the Mets start winning again.

You might be right. Nevertheless, since his decline in 2009, only Longoria, Beltre and maybe Zimmerman have unequivocally played a better 3rd base the last 4 years

It's a good thing for me and other Mets fans that Sandy Alderson didn't listen to the idiots on this board who always dog D. Wright! To quote MLB radio from taday... "why wouldn't the Mets sign a player who is everything you want a player to be... he can help a team win in so many ways, with his bat, with his glove, and with his leadership. Why invest in Pujols or Fielder who are limited. David wright is EVERYTHING you want a player and your leader to be!!"
