David Lennon ?@DPLennon- Asst GM John Ricco said that with cost of starting pitching, teams eager to trade for it. I'd say high probability of Niese getting dealt

As tempting as it might sound, getting a possible big return for Niese (ala Gio Gonzalez), I think Niese may be more valuable as part of this team going forward.

Can't say I understand the logic in that... Why not trade Dickey first??

Personally, I think Dickey will definitely be traded.

Maybe first, maybe second.

Honestly James, I think the Mets FO is dead set on keeping Wright. So we may in fact see a guy like Niese, who would bring a return equal to or greater than what we might get for Wright in a trade, get moved.

I'm not dead set against the concept primarily because based on pure stuff I don't see Niese becoming an elite pitcher, but if they do move him he better bring back a left handed starter or they better pray Santana is healthy and effective.

Trading Niese only makes sense if you have 3-4 teams battling each other offering about what the Nats gave up for Gio. Teams will HAVE to overpay if they want Niese...plain and simple. Two top prospects would simply not be enough.

Trading Niese would be stupid unless they got a SH3T load for him.

Well I want at least 1-ML ready OF, plus prospects.

Add a ML ready Catcher to that list, and I would definitely consider it. And if teams are unwilling to pay that price, then I'm perfectly fine with keeping Niese in the rotation.

Good point about the lefty starter. We have nothing beyond Niese and Johan.

Jon Niese to Royals for Salvador Perez(22 yo Catcher) and Alex Gordon (29 yo Right Fielder).

I would do that!

Definitely interesting. But I would need Wil Myers too. Greedy? Yep, but we hold all of the cards.

Need more than that. There will be teams willing to give up 3-4 top prospects since they understand they will HAVE to overpay to get him.

Why buy out his arb years to trade him?He finally had a good season late and now we're trading a cheap young lefty?

Again man, I only do it if we get blown away by an offer that fills several holes.

" an offer that fills several holes. "

....like, for an outfield....

We don't have an outfield!
