Wonder how much Bay's deferment is going to free up.

If he gets the Bobby Bo treatment, this could REALLY help the Mets this season and enable them to fill more holes.

I mean if its completely renegotiated they could even go as far as something like giving him 5.25M a year for four years starting in 2014. Freeing up all of his contract.

Probably gives them ability to Resign Wright plus a free agent like Melky Cabrera.

They should defer 8M to 2014. This way the Mets would have 18M for this season and around 22 to 25M next season. With 18M the Mets should be able to sign Melky LF for around 4M, Scott Hairston RF and play either Capt Kirk or Den Dekker at CF. Take a chance on a Madson /Soria /Valverde type for the BP.

Santana is about 27 for 2013 + 6.5 for Francisco 33.5M - 8M for Bay 24.5M.
