Several trade suggestions have been made for this guy. He hit pretty well in college, although it was Middle Tennessee State, which isn't quite the SEC The Sox took him in a compensation round, probably the one we lost by donating Billy Wagner.

His minor league career has been good, but not really attention grabbing. Could it be his name that attracts us? Is he, "the poor man's Bryce"?

Brentz had a very strong 2011 season hitting .306 with 30 HR's and 25 2B's to go along with a .939 OPS.

In 2012 his power #'s dropped but he still put up decent stats at AA. .296/17 HR/30 2B/.814.

He's projected to be a power-to-all-fields hitting RF with a very strong arm.

And the fact that he's a RH bat makes him attractive to our lineup, IMO.

Just saying, the BoSox have money for players, and need pitching. I want Brentz.
