    • Public Ridicule at Great Adventure:

I took my 4 yr old daughter to Great adventure, just some Daddy and her time away from her sister before Mom gives birth again.

So we are having great time and I am standing in line at the mini free fall next to a bunch of guys in yankee gear.

The kid working the ride see's a Met fan standing next to a bunch of yanekee fans, grabs his micro phone and over the speaker says something like “look at the guy with the wrong hat on, the NY Yankees are the only real team in town”. Everybody in 50 foot radius looks over and has a good laugh at the poor pathetic Mets fan…

Thanks JeffY!!!!! Thanks Fred, I have to endure public ridicule to support your team….nope no need to get any help……we are awesome already!

True story

The kid working the ride's a mo.ron, and anyone who laughed at you is a mo.ron.

Personally, I would have made a complaint to management and maybe got the jerk fired.

I just said yeah funny as I look at at him like I was about to ruin his day too...

he was a kid and probably just made a mistake, I could tell right away he wanted to put his foot in his mouth and he made a point to wish me a good day after the ride so I let it go.

Seriously, all kidding aside…when you walk around with Mets gear on people either feel bad for you or the laugh at you…

I find this disturbing and wish the Wilpon’s were Mets fans so they would understand too..

I wasn't there, but if he was really dissing you in front of your child, he should be fired. I would have probably overreacted and said something about how Mets fans enjoy a day off at the park while Yankee fans get the challenge of operating a ride that requires the intelligence and skill ofatraindmonkey.

To be fair, there have been relatively few periods where it was "cool" to wear Mets gear

When my son was little back in the late 90's he wore his Met cap everywhere and would get "Mets stands for ---My Entire Team Stinks" all the time. Didn't stop him. Who cares, especially Yankee fans who've won once in the last 11 years. Pretty bad for a franchise whose mandate is to always win- losing 10 out of 11 years. Just relax and enjoy our young home-grown players.

I can’t be any less cool then being some front running Yankee fan…

Chicks don’t like followers

My daughter was clueless to it….she is only 4 but I am sure she will get her fill of ridicule for being a Mets fan in her own due time…

anyway, again it looked like the kid regretted it after he said it so I had to let it go

Forget Freddy and Jeff, you should have gone to the manager of the park to "thank" him for his employee singling you out. Also how you will never be giving Great Adventure your dirty Met money since it is obviously not appreciated.

Lets see how good the joke is to Mr. Funny Guy after that.

Well she may be only 4 but it's never too early to start prepping her for the "nice girls don't date Yankee fans" talk.

>You are a gentleman and should be commended. Many people would have put the kid on the unemployment line. Good job, sir.<

I didnt find it funny and I am a pretty good sport...it was hot a heck I was sweating my nuggets off and wasnt in the mood.

poeple say stuff to me all the time and I laugh at it all....maybe doing it over the loud speaker is where he crossed the line..plus lets not forget he is gettting paid to make me have a good time

But like I said I felt like he regretted it so........
