That wasn't the first time today that he mentioned the no hitter.

You do realize that any time a pitcher has a no-hitter through six innings MLB.com plasters it all over their site and is the first game that pops up, right?

MLB network was all over it giving live coverage. So it's not only our broadcast.

Unless the broadcast was on in the dugout it is irrelevant. He would not be doing job if he did not mention it. Some viewers could be unaware due to their tuning in late or not paying attention. I am sure if you go back and view the broadcasts of no hitters they were talked about during the game.

He's a broadcaster, he's got to mention it.

Stop crying.

Only ignorant people believe in jinxes. No one in a broadcast booth has power over what is going to happen on the field. Do you think that the Braves team of announcers were not saying it with every other breath?

Howie was talking about it on the radio side in the 5th. I hear you about "etiquette" ... or more, "properly" superstition. But you've go to let the audience know...

the audience knew...they were talking "around" it the whole game...keith was repeatedly saying things like "a you-know-what" ...it was very clear what he was talking about...even my gf got it and she barely follows the games...there was no reason to actually say it

i know there is no ACTUAL impact but it drives me crazy...

I'm no Kay fan, but he obviously wasn't making a direct comparison as far as importance on humanity.

"never understood how people can be soooo stupid to think someone mentioning a no-hitter is bad luck or 'jinx'... "

It's pretty stupid. People believe in a lot of ridiculous superstitious nonsense
