i haven't read anyone suggest Glaus or Cameron.

Hopefully Delgado is like plan D on omars list. Frankly if I were in charge he wouldn't even be on my list. the mets need to move away from him now.

I think even though Delgado is old they can have Murphy play 1/3 of the games and give Delgado enough rest,
that's what the Yankees do with Damon (who's old) and Melky (who's young but not as good) and it works for them.

Anyway they do need a Power hitting 1B and Murphy isn't that.

The Thing is they have to sign a solid #2 SP and a Power hitting LF first,
so that doesn't leave a huge amount of money for a Power hitting 1B (maybe $5M or $10M at most).

These guys are NOT the answer. They are band-aids...bridges to F mart, Murphy, Davis. They are also a reflection of a putrid fa class. Yanks will be all over Holliday. Omar will have to show how good he is by engineering a good trade for power OF and a #2.

I expect Pagan, Pelfrey, Maine, Castillo, Santos, Sullivan, Murphy, Evans and Reed among others are trade bait.

I wouldn't trade Maine (but I would trade Pelfrey if they can get something good for him).
Pagan is a great 4th OF (better than Melky) but I guess they could trade him if they can get something good for him. The Rest on your list I don't care about they can trade all of them for all I care.

Are you living in a childlike fantasy world? You're no closer to assisting the Mets in assembling a team for next season than anyone else here. This isn't like some dumb TV show where fans send in letters and gifts to the network trying to get their favorite characters and couples more airtime. I highly doubt the Mets read this board. If they did, Delgado, Wright, Beltran, Reyes and Castillo would've been traded for a bunch of baseball cards long ago.

Aside from that, guess what? i agree with you wholeheartedly. No thanks to Troy Glaus (he was injured most of last season, wasn't he?), Delgado (another injured player from last season) and Cameron if we're talking about him as the regular leftfielder. He might be fine for getting some power off the bench.

If there's something I would hope the Mets learned from last season, it's to not to have too many question marks going into a season. It's time to cut the cord with Delgado (as it is with Maine, unless they want him in the bullpen). Signing a onetime good player who was injured last season sounds to me like JJ Putz and Moises Alou revisited. We need to get younger and healthier.

The Yankees did that in the late 80s (they got rid of Henderson and Winfield)
and they got younger and healthier (Henderson always had bad hamstrings)
and they went for a team that won 90 games every year to a team that lost 90 games.

So you better get good young players if you're going to get younger
b.c just getting younger and healthier players isn't going to make you a better team
if the younger players aren't as good as the older players.

Anyway I'm all for replacing Delgado with a younger healthier power hitting 1B if one is available,
is there one available?, and Maine can go to the Bullpen if the Mets can get a solid #3 SP to replace him (they already have to get a #2 SP, so if they move Maine they will need a to get a new #3 SP also).

I'm not talking about rebuilding with prospects and the Carlos Gomez's of the world. I'm talking about doing more to add established players from the 25 to 30 year old crop where to fill their holes(obviously these players cost more, so this can only be done on a limited basis).

They can pick up a #2 SP and a powering hitting LF,
as far as i know there's no power hitting 1B on the FA market
(and probably no trade can be done b.c SD and Millwaukee probably want too much for
Gonzalez or Fielder, like every good prospect in the Mets system).

So given the options Delgado wouldn't be a bad one year solution at 1B
(especially with Murphy filling in to keep Delgado well rested, like the Yankees did with Melky-Damon), I'd rather have Delgado and Murphy than just Murphy (we had just Murphy last season and that didn't work out too good).

If they can make a deal for a younger healthy power hitting 1B I'd be for that,
if not then Delgado makes sense to me (over just Murphy again).

"Not trying to debate with you koolaiders this offseason"

Because you have no suggestions, only complaints.

"Your thoughts and suggestions about trades and Free Agents arent needed... "

So far, you haven't shown any thoughts at all. Why can't you answer the question? I didn't say you were wrong about Glaus, I'm asking you to tell us who you WOULD get. You won't answer.

Typical.
