I don't think what happens in the next 2 games is going to effect what the Phillies do next year. If anything I wouldn't be surprised if they became more complacent with another World Series win.

The Philly team is STACKED as it is right now. It will be hard for them to make improvements outside of the pen and maybe another starter regardless whether they win or lose this series.

I missed what exactly Pedro "did to us." He wanted to pitch for the Mets, they didn't want him. The Phillies did and he signed with them?

I "like" the idea of the Phillies winning a second world series. Well, I say "like" because frankly neither team winning is a viable option for a Metropolitan fan imo.

But, if the Yankees win we will have to hear 27, etc, etc. Also, we can't compete with the Yankees for free agents dollar for dollar and they are going to be active players forever.

If the Phils win, perhaps back to back wins will force the Wilpons to reorganize their baseball operations and boost the budget when those one in a decade type players come along.

That plus, there are far too many obnoxious met-loathing Yankee fans in the metropolitan area imo. The Phillies may be just as obnoxious, but not so many. That and NL rivals come and go, the Yankees ain't going nowhere. Just my opinion.
