HOLY F***in SH**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How did they F*** this up??????

Why would you hire the Nats former pitching coach?????? They have the worst pitching ever so you hire their coach??? They found pretty much the only person who will do a worse job then wiley. I want to be optimistic, but this is just too STUPID!?!? Makes you wonder how they are planning to top porter at third.

GO FISH!!! LORIA - WHO CAN I PI$$ OF TODAY?!!!!

Maybe the Nats pitching was bad because they just had bad pitchers, hence the need to sign an arm for a larger contract than many of the Marlins players, despite the fact that said arm never pitched on a big league mound. Anyway, I'm optimistic, just hoping that St Claire will be a little better than Wiley, which you have to admit is not too difficult. If he is at least a little better than Wiley, and helps Marlins pitching win at least two or three more games, I won't be complaining.

I hope your right, but as I recall Nats pitching improved a bit after he was canned.

It could have just been that they got an even better pitching coach...

Keeping my fingers crossed!

When Willis had his 20+ game season it was Mark Willey as the picthing coach. He left the Marlins when Girardi got the job and came back after he left so you never know what kind of pitching coach St. Claire can be until he is giving a better staff to work with.

The greatest pitching coach couldnt improve the Nationals so its unfair to tag St. Claire as a bad pitching coach. I'll give him a chance and I hope he can help the Marlins find a spot in the playoffs next year.

"The greatest pitching coach couldnt improve the National" Why would you say such a stupid thing? I already said that I'm fairly certain the Nats pitching did improve after they fired St. Clarie and got a new coach. I do hope that St. Clarie can help the team, but it seems a bit dull to pick the pitching coach who got canned from the team witht he worst pitching. I mean shouldn't they be looking for coaches who have actually had some level of success with their former teams?

GO FISH!!! APPARENTLY YOU DON'T NEED A GOOD RESUME TO BE A PITCHING COACH!!!!

Yes, it could be, but that doesn't mean the St. Claire is any good. Anyway, like you said keep your fingers crossed.

You remenber the start of the year? The Nationals had the worse pitching staff, specially the bullpen! They send down so many pitchers to the minors, no pitching coach could have fixed the Nationals in 2009. They improved BECAUSE they sent people to the minors and got new picthers, it had nothing to do with the pitching coach.

Ozzie asked for better arms when he took over the Sox, he knew that no pitching coach can work miracles when the talent isnt there. I agree with you that Claire doesnt have the best of resumes but lets see what he can do with a much better pitching staff.

Mark Willey is EXTREMELY respected around the majors as a GREAT pitching coach, where did that get us? Give Claire a fair shot to fail with the Marlins before we bury him.

Any chances we can get Perry Hill back from Pits?

Couldn't the Fish have just hired Charlie Hough to teach our kids, um, "another pitch"? <shrug> That may have been tongue-in-cheek, but imagine if Lindstrom added a knuckler to his repertoire! Ah the possibilities.

Look, I want to give St. Claire a fair shake, but I can't help but be skeptical after his showing with the Nats. Now I never said that any pitching coach could completely turn the Nats around, but saying that no pitching coach could even improve the Nats remotely is flat out stupid. Secondly, the second group of losers they brought in is just as bad as the first, but they did better. Unless they have a magic fairy looking out for them I will be attributing that to the coaching staff. I think we can all agree that a team that picks up Logan Kensing doesn't have much to work with.

GO FISH!!! ....

"anybody is better than bo porter. "
Sure, you say that now, but lets just wait and see what piece of @#!* they are planning to drag out their next season. It seems like they only reason they get rid of coaches is to find someone even worse.

GO FISH!!! BO PORTER > COACH TO BE NAMED!?!?

some of the cr.ap that Bo the wh.ore did last year, a five year old wouldnt do. i remember a few years ago him sending matt treanor home in a key situation and treanor getting gunned down by like 20 feet. that is pathetic.

i say make me the 3rd base coach!!!! maybe the easiest job in the bleepin world. i would love to get paid lot of money to wave my arms in a circle.....lol
