Sorry for this extremely lame post...but looking at the standings, I am starting to think that a tad over .500 will get us into a 1 game playoff...Am I nuts here?

How much is "a tad"? I'm thinking in the range of 87 to 89 wins will grab spot 5. So 87-75 absolute minimum. Just a little 20 win improvement over 2011, that's all.

Or a two-game improvement over 2009.

Or maybe we'll manage to grab first place for a bit, and the Mayans will turn out to have been right. The season will end with us in the lead. In your FACE, Anaheim!!!

I don't know if you're nuts, but I got a good laugh from this thread after 11 games.

You know what's more ridiculous? If you look at the MLB standings on ESPN, they publish a POFF stat for each team ... a percentage chance of each team of making the playoffs. On April 18, they have a projection of this.

I promise not to look.
