Time to cut our ties with this guy! Put him on the DL or let him go. The guy is hurting this team more than helping. Playing in pain, and limping around the bases. Teams are going to walk Kipnis to pitch to him. He brings absolutely nothing to this team, except for rollong weak ground balls to 2nd base!

.441 SLG% (More than Kipnis)

How is that absolutely nothing?

To be fair, if you take Kipnis' steals and turn those into doubles, his SLG would be higher than Hafner's. But, .441% SLG is definitely not 'nothing.'

Who cares, Hafner gets hits and walks when they dont matter. The guy doesnt drive in runs. Yesterday he had 6 left on base, today 3 LOB.

Oh no doubt Kipnis is a better player, but when you have a lineup with so many holes, a .441 SLG % definitely helps.

Now compare how many AB's they have. Believe me if he gets as many at bats as Kipnis, there will be no comparison. He's still hurting as we all watched him limp around the bases today and we lost a run because of it.

I care. What parts of the game don't matter?

At this point I would just put Lopez in the DH position for the rest of the year.

The part of the game when we are leading 7-2 in the 9th and Hafner hits a solo home run - WHO CARES.

Hafner frequently gets hits and walks with no one on base - but not with RISP when we need it the most. We dont need another lead off hitter we need someone with power in the middle of the lineup to drive in runs.

Lopez has more RBI's in far fewer AB's than most on this team. Not sure what your problem is with him. He is sometimes overly aggressive going after the first pitch but I will take that over Hafner standing there striking out and arguing with the umpire (which he does quite frequently).

I give quite a few cares, several in fact.

"when we are leading 7-2 in the 9th and Hafner hits a solo home run"

How many times has that happened this year? Hey, maybe you should take a look at these, they could help you out.

2012
May 23 - Indians Win 4-2, Hafner 2 RBIs
May 22 - Indians Win 5-3, Hafner 2 RBIs
May 14 - Indians Win 5-4, Hafner 1 RBI
April 17 - Indians Win 9-8, Hafner 1 RBI

Every game counts, right?

Who would you suggest? Maybe Marson? Hafner isn't healthy and even if he gets on base with a walk or hit, he can't run! He cost us a run today(maybe even 2 when kotchman got his hit today and brantley didn't score). His numbers are a whole heII of a lot better than Hafner's.

Im not saying Hafner has done nothing all year, Im saying he simply doesnt do enough for a guy batting #4 in the order. I have more hope for a big hit with Duncan, Marson or Lopez in that spot than with Hafner.

And I agree that Hafner could be doing more as a number 4 hitter. But when you said "Hafner gets hits and walks when they don't matter" that's not true, he has gotten hits when they mattered, just not that often.

I think he came back too early, because of the struggles of Santana.

Santana today with another 6 LOB.

Well, he's not doing the team any favors. We don't need another easy out. And even if he does get on base, he can't run. He's more of a liability then any thing else at this point. Only way he should be out there is if he is healthy

So Hafner has enough at bats for you to complain about, but not enough to compare his performance to other players?

Hafner need to go back to North Dakota and run his ranch. He wouldn't scare a little league pitcher.
