It was great to see the tribe take 2 out of 3 from the Angels this weekend, yet you have to wonder if it's a temporary live for the moment situation or Manny's inspiring leadership? What's everybodys take on this?? Is it just me or will Manny continue to mismanage this ball club like he has all season or start making decisions that have to be made like batting Santana 6th or 7th where he belongs and send T.Sipp to the minors to get himself straightened out!! Manny's isn't going to lead this team to a World Series Championship not this or any year!! I'm fed up with him!!!

i think he is doing a decent job. I really think this team is pretty poor and the fact that they are contending is over their heads. How do you contend with 5 good players, cabrera, choo, kipnis, santana and masterson. the rest of the line up is horrible and yet they have won more then lost. this is not his fault.

What specifically makes you so fed up about Acta? Keep in mind that outside of setting the lineup and in-game decisions, he doesn't have a whole lot of power.

How can you send someone down to the minors if he has no options left? I know Sipp is struggling, but yesterday he looked very sharp to me. Any manager with a player that doesn't have any options would do what Manny is doing with him, and just keep working with him. They could release him, but Tony is still young enough to completely turn things around and become a bonafide useful Major League reliever, and then what? Then we'll complain that he gave up on him too soon?

Not me buddy I would never complain about Sipp being traded or just releases

I thought Sipp did have an option or two left? I'm pretty sure he's been in the majors ever since he was originally called up. I could be wrong about that though.

You play in the AL Central, heres where they would be in other division as of now...

ALE-4 place by .007
ALC-2nd
ALW-3rd

NLE-3rd
NLC-4th
NLW-3rd

The only way this team is "contending" is playing in this division. They move to another division and they are a last place team. Wouldn't be surprised if they finish 4th in the divison.

...OH NO! You mean we wouldn't be in contention if we played in another division! Realignment is going to kill us! Oh wait...

Yeah I'm not sure. If he does have options left, he should be in Columbus and Scott Barnes should be up here no doubt.

hey rah rah boy read his post I replyed to, he asked how you "contend" with this team I answered it. This team isn't contending in any other division in baseball, now you can get back to dusting your Acta shrine.

That I can agree with, but just don't get rid of him, if he can turn things around.

LOL...it's funny, everyone criticizes acta but if you ask them to point out problems that he actually has control over...they get real quiet real fast.

I agree that for talent , Manny has done ok. But , he can send Cunningham , Duncan out. He could have throw LaPorta in that lineup or Canzler - they could not have done worse. In defense of him - moving Choo to lead off great job. Some good , some bad. He is terrible in game management - when to bunt , etc. Example- against Weaver 6th inning / 2 hits (no runs) lead off walk to Duncan in eight spot- u have to bunt Hannahan in 9 spot and give Choo and Cabby a shot to tie game at one. He has swing away and double play. That is one example and there are several.Ultinately, the front office has not gone out and spent money for some right handed bats and they are not giving him fairest of shots.

Yeah, he isn't the best manager in baseball, but he is FAR from the worst. One thing I have no doubt about: Acta's teams fight for him. That's been the case ever since 2010 when he had such an inferior roster.

Here's the reason they haven't fired him. This is a quote from Acta about a conversation he had with Frank Robinson.

"I wanted to take the opportunity to thank him for giving me my first shot at the big-league level," said Acta. "He said I'd earned it, but I said, 'Yeah, but you could have fired me after the first year, but you kept me.'

"I'm very grateful and I let him know. He didn't to take any credit for it, but my message was in three days it's going to be my 10th year in the big leagues. It's something that everyone shoots for due to the pension plan and I wanted him to know he was responsible for it. I'm grateful for it."

So the Indians would feel bad if they fired him and he couldn't get his 10 years in for the pension plan. So I guess you just have to show up, you don't have to produce.
