I really enjoy how the front office always sticks with these lines when times get tough or during certain periods of the season, or when they keep getting asked the same question. Should be a fun thread

"i still don't believe we have played our best baseball yet"

I know that just kills me;-)....cause it can cover all kinds of sins and no one will ever take any blame except the players themselves for underperforming!!, It's really rather brilliant, as Shapiro and Antonetti can just wash their hands at the end of the year and say, well, our guys didn't perform up to their level to win the division. End of story.;-)

That BS ia not working on most of the fans any longer. Their spin has never worked on me since 2002. I saw them for what they are a bunch of number guys that don't know much about building a baseball team and know even less about doing talent evaluations and projecting production rates. The thing they do know how to do is make the dolan family trust richer.

LOL LOL This is really funny.... 3 months into the season already and don't worry they just haven't played their best baseball yet.... lol lol Of course you can't say anything bad about this team, the manager or the owner because so many people in here only want to hear nothing but positive things posted, the same people who every year feel the organization is doing everything they can to win a championship, it is the injuries or they still feel like Wedge, they will come around it is only a slump....

*Gasp* How did you catch on to the Indians diabolical plan?! For years we thought that the secret was safe, but apparently the cat is out of the bag and the loyal fans of this board have the all-mighty xforemanjoe to thank...

Anyone who has ever posted anything remotely positive in regards to the Indians on this board is actually a robot. A robot constructed personally by Mark Shapiro and Chris Antonetti (with the help of Bill James and sabermetrics) with the intentions of convincing fans everywhere that the front office is trying to improve the team!

Right with ya on that Joe. Syill haven't played their best baseball and Hafner has a calming influence on the other hitter except he is not back yet. I guess we will have to wait for that calming influence. But fear not the magic man is back CARLOS Santana is catching and kitting .200 and Marson is sitting while hitting .280. But Santana is the man. Santana is Manny's man. The guy better hit tonight or I will be on his case and Manny as well.

Danger! Danger! adaree.......you should know optimism is not allowed in Cleveland. We were done before the season started and a 2 game deficit is impossible to overcome

Apparently YOU ARE the mouth piece of Dopelan and this front office. Many of us including Joe see things for what they are. This owner, and front office, hasn't made a significant deal in years. Oh yea, we have picked up a few injured or leftovers from other teams who saw what they were and released them. That pile of washed up has beens is where the front office goes shopping. Don't you feel strange being the only a$s kisser left on this board? Open your eyes and look at the product on the field. Do you REALLY think this team can with the Central Divn and maybe the World Series? Open your eyes man. Look at what Dopelan has presented to Cleveland fans. There may be 6 or 7 players now on this team that other teams might want. The other 18 are just happy to be in major league baseball. Do the players give it all they have? Yes I do believe they give their all. What they have to give just isn't good enough. How can you stand by this owner and FO when they haven't given the fans anything close to a championship team?

"you should know optimism is not allowed in Cleveland."

What is there to be optimistic about? How may .300 hitters do we have on this team? Who is going to have 100 RBI? Do we have anybody that may hit 25 - 30 HR's? Do we have a pitcher that may win 15 games? Please tell us who these players are.

Wart you get an atta boy for that buddy and I agree with you SIR. The Dolan family wants the APPEARANCE of caring if they win the WS, Just the appearance since the doing costs money. The only way they win is if they back into one.

Never said anything about a robot but speaking of robots I guess that is what some people in here wants everyone to be, a robot following and believing every word that comes out of the Indians organization. If this team had already won a World Series say even in the past 20 years, was in 1st place playing every game like they were going to repeat as World Champions again this year, and didn't have so many players hitting under .250, then I guess every post in here would start with, "This is a great team they do nothing wrong and there isn't anything that needs to be corrected so there isn't anything to talk about, see everyone next year. "

Oh man I totally forgot about sabermatrics, I guess those stats were used to put together this 2012 version of the Cleveland Indians and those stats showed that guys like Wheeler, Duncan, Cunningham and a couple more were going to play like All Stars this year and lead the Indians to the World Series. lol

LOL I see Santana did get a hit tonight and raised his batting average to .221. Marson should ask for a trade right now when he is hot because he might be a guy they can use in a trade to improve the team. You don't really need a backup catcher who can hit so right now he would be expendable and they don't have much to trade in the Minors or guys they can afford to trade.

Nothing wrong with optimism or wishful thinking or even crossing your fingers....

That's one thing about the FO they never take blame for any of their poor decisions. And they pick managers that have the same attitude. I never heard Wedge or Acta take blame for decisions they make during games.

"i still don't believe we have played our best baseball yet"

So what that means to me is, "our manager and coaching staff haven't gotten the best baseball out of our players yet" in to which I reply, "Why do they still have a job after half of the season?"

Yeah Joe Carlos is BACK. What a joke the guy is. They should have let him DH. Then Marsons bat would have been in there hitting. Well buddy I am the one that said blow it up in the off season if they don't make the WS. Definately could get something for Marson.

100% right buddy. Remember the FO is responsible for the all lefty hitting lineup. Now someone did say that was a failed experiment. What gets me crazy is they are alway trying to change how baseball is played. Wedge had his versatility and match ups. now the all lefty hitters becayse they face more righty pitchers.

Lots of failed experiments here.

Shapiro is still defending their decision to stack the team with left handed hitters, I just saw a clip from an interview he did a few days ago, and he stated that we went with the all left handed hitting lineup cause we will be facing 70 percent right handed pitching. I wonder why the other 29 teams in baseball don't stack their teams with left handed hitters?? I wonder what other revealing stat we might build our lineup for? "For next year, we will build our lineup with hitters who can hit slow curve balls and change ups. We did our research and found out pitchers throw 73 percent curve balls and change ups to our hitters."
