"This will be my last year," Vizquel said in Spanish to NESN.com. "I've enjoyed this game a lot, but I think it's time to pursue a new career as a coach or manager, and hopefully I'll get that opportunity in the future."

It would be pretty cool if the Indians could acquire him in August so he could retire as an Indian.

He should play for us the rest of year and manage next year.

I would love to see him retire as an Indian and come back next year as a coach. I would like to see Acta fired and Sandy hired as the manager with Omar on the staff.

I'd love to see Alomar as Manager and Lofton as the hitting coach...

Why not just bring back players from the 90's to fill out the coaching staff.

Why not bring back 90's players? Fryman's already in the system, and I'd love to see Thome somewhere as a 1st base coach or something.

I'm still going to support Acta cause given the mediocre talent, the Indians are still in the hunt, and I don't think anyone could've done better.

You can NOT be serious, please explain the Gomez tragedy from the Houston series!! This team wins despite this guy and his lack of any managing skills. I wouldn't let this guy manage my nephews Lemonade stand

Here's the plan for next year. Fire Acta and Alomar takes over and then he brings in his brother, Robbie, as the hitting coach, brings in Omar as bench coach, and then brings in Hershiser to be the pitching coach

Yeah, enough with all the AAA hacks that could never make it as a Major league player. Its no wonder they can't fix any of our player's problems.

This cheap owner and his little yes men F@#Ked up big time, in not replacing Wedge with Showalter when they had the chance.

All those guys, would be great, but it is not the way this FO works. They would be too intimidated by those type of personalities, which is why people like Acta, and Wedge are perfect for them. (yes men)

I agree. I dunno if that is even possible, but for sure he will sign a 1 day contract with the team and retire (next season).

If the Dolans don't offer him a 1 day contract and Omar just retires, i will burn both Paul and Larry dolans house to the ground.

Omar is my all time favorite player. I would love to see him back here in a coaching position. He would bring a lot of fire and heart to the job.

I wonder what Omar's chances will be to make the HOF when the time comes?

My money is on veteran's committee elect. I get the impression that he isn't getting much support outside of Cleveland.

Well, I would prefer Lofton to be the hitting Coach, but if we go your way can Lofton be the baserunning trainer? So we stop getting outs because our guys finally get hits and try to squeeze out a double?

Alomar as Manager, Lofton as hitting coach and Omar as bench coach and Naggy as pitching coach.

Probably about right. Too bad he will come up a little short on 3000 hits. That would have gotten him in the first year he is eligible...
