Browns owner sickened by losing
1 hour, 58 minutes ago

CLEVELAND (AP)—Browns owner Randy Lerner says he is “sick” about the state of his NFL team but he will not make a coaching change.

Cleveland dropped to 1-7 after Sunday’s 30-6 loss in Chicago. Afterward, an upset Lerner told the Cleveland Plain Dealer and Akron Beacon-Journal that he would not fire coach Eric Mangini during the club’s bye week. Lerner did say he would like to bring in a “strong, credible, serious leader” to help run his team.

Lerner did not expand on who that person might be or if that person currently worked for the Browns. He recently brought in former Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar in an unspecified consulting role.

Good luck with all that Mr. L, we are sicker than you of it, trust us. At least you have your money to wipe the tears/pain away, what do we have? Oh ya, the Indians will make the WS in 2010, I forgot.

Same old, same old.

Lerner should admit that he made another mistake and fire this chump by the end of the season. It would certainly be better than waiting another 3-4 years and starting all over again (for the 5th time). Does he really trust Mangini with 11 draft picks? Mangini certainly did a bang up job with his first draft with the Browns.

Only one he could bring in to do the job would be parcells but he loves miami. It would cost him a fortune and a % of his team for him to come to cleveland.

come on, Lerner. When is the last time the guy sat in a bar and watched an entire Browns game?

As long as he DOES NOT bring in Jim Brown. He has turned into nothing but a blowhard. That would be the worst guy to hire. Sam Rutigliano would be a good choice. He could be in complete control of football operations. He should be the guy that does the hiring and firing of everybody.

Yeah,i get tired of jim brown always around the players and reading his quotes about how great jamal lewis is as a running back.He should have retired before this season.Brown reminds me of bob feller being at every spring training camp.Seems like these old athletes can never leave their jock straps in the closet.I don't mind once in a while but they over do it and become a distraction.Great news that kosar was hired.Kosar is smart but you have to wonder what he's done to his grey matter with all the alcohol and drug abuse and if he's really clean. They say...once a junkie always a junkie.Would you trust someone to help run your business who's personal life was in the toilet?

I did not know, or even heard about Bernies drug alcohol problems if it is even true. I had heard he had financial problems, but I just assumed it was bad investments.

I've heard about the alcohol problems, but are you implying that he was a heroin addict? I've only heard the term junkie used in the context of heroin abuse.
