Aaaand the draft stock plummets!!
Did he honestly think he would get away with it?
What a tool.
Others are reporting it was a hoax played on him by others..
Going to withhold judgement.
He was exposed as a fraud on the field in the title game, this might be the greatest plunge in pre draft history?
(of course that AZ state linebacker drop was pretty epic, from first round to undrafted)
it's weird though because supposedly he met her at Stanford.
Crazy either way.
I can't believe a top of the market NFL draft prospect used the "Love" word with a woman he never bedded...or even met in person.
The guy had to have been in on it...and once it got out of hand, he didn't have the guts to man up and admit it. He even involved his parents in the scam.
What a sick bunch of individuals.
First Lizzy Seeberg and now this?<http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/story/21494409/no-charges-no-name-just-unanswered-questions-in-notre-dame-tragedy
And Manti is denying it all, yet in the admission he admits speaking to her on the phone."This is incredibly embarrassing to talk about, but over an extended period of time, I developed an emotional relationship with a woman I met online. We maintained what I thought to be an authentic relationship by communicating frequently online and on the phone, and I grew to care deeply about her.
( presumably not just talking to her when "she as in a coma" either)So who was he talking to?)
And the article you posted has a quote in it that his dad had spoken to her on the phone, so how does that work?(Now that his dad, and he and Notre Dame are claiming that Manti was a "victim" of a hoax.)
And who exactly told the SB trib that they had met after a Stanford game?
"Nov. 28, 2009: Te'o and Kekua meet after Stanford's 45-38 victory over Notre Dame in Palo Alto, according to the South Bend Tribune: "Their stares got pleasantly tangled, then Manti Te'o extended his hand to the stranger with a warm smile and soulful eyes." Kekua, a Stanford student, swaps phone numbers with Te'o."
Sounds to me like the various news outlets that published all those articles need to be forced to sit down with Te'o and figure out who made that sh*t up-- them or him?
I say that Notre Dame's BCS Championship appearance should be forfeited, same with their win over Stanford.
So.. let's see a rematch for the BCS Championship-- with Stanford and Oregon playing Alabama!
(Absolutely no logic to base that on, it's just what I am demanding!)
Maybe each team gets to play one half each!
Call it the "Anti-Manti BCS Championship Bowl-- sponsored by Bill Clinton".
Manti-"I did not have sex with that woman!"
I agree, it's weird that he would feel such a connection with nothing physical going on. I realize he's mormon, but still.
What's weirder are the inconsistencies between his and his parents' stories. Supposedly he met her in Palo Alto. But once it came out that she never went to Stanford, it became a girl he just met online.
His family has mentioned how she came out to Hawaii to visit him.
The timeline of her death in relation to his grandma differs significantly in various reports.
He's just like any public figure who has ever been caught cheating or lying red-handed. He's trying to disavow any involvement. But in my mind there's no question he was in on it. Not surprising from a Notre Dame guy.
