You know, that's actually not that bad of a deal for him.

.263/20/57 last season in 135 games.........plus, he is a bonafied Giant killer so I would pay him $8mil for two years just to eliminate him from being in the opposite dugout.

"he is a bonafied Giant killer..."

Seriously. Can't we just pay him and bench him? That'd be worth a few wins next year!

Its just a joke about how much of a Giant killer he is. I'd love to see him in LF, given our options, but just never having to play against him next season or two is good enough!

It's really not. Hairston 4 mil> Torres 2 mil.

I'd say he's worth picking up for that contract.

I just read that the Mets were rumored to have countered that with one-year at $2M LOL.

I saw that LoL, I say throw a 2yr/$6.5mil at him and see what happens.

Hairston is a good option. His numbers are really deflated because he's played in pitcher's parks most of his career.

I think that Hairston has sailed. After Sabean signed Torres, it was adios.

The Mets' counter, if true, is hilarious. How could both sides pretend to be serious about a reunion?

The Mets should just try to work out a trade of Santana, even though his back issues will be a deterrent. His remaining contract details:

13:$25.5M, 14:$25M club option ($5.5M buyout)
full no-trade clause

they should have signed him before they jumped the gun and signed torres. I am sure if we hadn't signed torres, he would be available.
