Can you imagine him in an offense built around him, and with him having a preseason?

He must have had at lest 3 or 4 dropped balls too felt like 6. I know Walker had 2 or 3 as per usual.

"am having as much fun as that last certain day of basball season last nov".
After one playoff win? C'mon Smith did that last year against New Orleans.

Your kidding-really because check me if I'm wrong, but did'nt the Giants just win the world series in november? Yes, he proved he is a great qb. I'll give him that. I already heard a comparison because of yrds gained to Montana/Young. Thats ridiculous. For one thing a qb now does'nt have to worry if he decides to run down the middle of the field that he's gonna get crunched from two sides at once, or get his legs broken in the process.

Yes, he has tons of talent and realized this in one game. Before we pronounce him the best thing the NFL has ever seen. Lets see if he can do this over time.

First of all the "Fastest player in the league" comment. You have proof of that? Because I don't think you have to look very far to find someone faster. Ted Ginn jr.

I have'nt actually timed the two so this is a guess.

"We don't even need to talk about the physical attributes".

Followed by "Top 3 best arm in the league IMO". that is not a physical attribute?

"Him and Wilson are just rock solid; you can't phase those guys".

Well the latter is already on a plane home will be watching the rest of the playoffs on his big screen at home.

I already said that Kaepernik is a great qb. But his career is an open book. Anyone remember the Seattle game. This was not the same qb we saw against GB.

" I already said that Kaep is a great QB. But his career is an open book. Anyone remember the Seattle game. (Shouldve been a question mark.) This was not the same QB we saw against GB."

That first sentence you posted must have been painful to type.

You should read that book you typed about, with open eyes.

Have you ever been to the races and tried to talk to someone 6' away with the din of open exhaust blasting away as you try to holler to them. That's what faces a QB trying to change a play at Seachumps park, you're at the mercy of a play you called at that park. When the 49ers move to their new park in '14 that din will be in the ears of any team facing our team, even the Seattle team!

I wish that you would be as much of a gentleman as Alex Smith has been with his demotion. He could,ve caused a rift within the team but he didn't.

Finally Harbaugh inherited Alex Smith but traded up to get who is now the QB with OUR team, he saw what he had inherited and realized Alex is a good QB, but not a great one.

Well madb...you know you can't put all 49ers fans in a box. I appreciate what Kaepernik did this weekend. I'm excited to see the kind of player he can be. But, before I start listing his name with Joe Montana, Steve Young, Even John Brodie. I want to see what he can do over a longer amount of time. Now, if he can get in and win the superbowl. Obviously then I would at least have to recognize him as a superbowl winner and superb qb. Because we don't win a superbowl every year. But, even then he would need to be a qb for a longer period of time before mentioning his name with Hall of fame qb,s.

Having said that. I would be blind not to recognize just how talented he is, it is amazing the raw tools he has. And at least this weekend he showed that he is poised, delivers the ball acurately, and can certainly explode down the field with speed.

It is amazing what he has accomplished so far in his young career. The only negative really about him I can find is the game in Seattle. For some reason he seemed to lose focus in it. If he can bounce back on the road, and show the same kind of focus he did against GB. Then for sure we have a force that the 49ers have'nt seen in a long time.

Good post, good points. It's been hard to see the way the situation was handled. But, now that Kaepernik is here lets hope he can continue to be more like we saw against GB, even Chicago, and New England.

You don't think that Montana, Young played in loud stadiums? If he is gonna be in that class of player he will need to find a way to overcome a noisy stadiums influence.

If memory serves me correctly, Alex Smith beat Seattle a couple of times in that same stadium with the same loud crowd.
