Wow, I can't believe Youkilis got traded to the White Sox, especially considering who they gave up for him; Brett Lillibridge and Zach Stewart, are you kidding me?! LOL.

As Greg Papa and others have said, at least Youkilis will not be a Dodger!

This is an interesting move for the Red Sox though. It's kind of surprising that they traded him to an AL team.

I'm very glad he didn't come over here. I think he would have been a complete waste of prospects and likely would have messed with Belt's progression. Considering Belt's recent success at the plate, I wasn't really worried he'd make it over here anyway.

To be fair, considering what the Red Sox got for him, it wouldn't have really costs any "prospects" in the pure sense.

But boy am I glad Belt came on strong the past couple weeks. Youk wouldn't have cost much, but considering what they got for him and the limited number of bids, it appears the league doesn't think he's gonna get it back anytime soon. It'll be interesting to see what he gets on the market this winter (He's a free agent, right?).

The Red Sox are still stuck with his salary, though. So, they didn't win in this. It would have been a win in that regard but he's injured and plain old not playing well. What in the world do we need that for?
