Agreed 1,000,000,000,000,000% It's not that I hate him, I just hate watching him play. I mean I really hate it. It's like, I see him come up to bat, and I immediately flip on a Tom Shane commercial, because it's so much more exciting.

Benjie seems like a cool dude, but really, if I have to see him slug up to first, or not be able to score from 3rd on a deep fly ball, or be completely unable to either call a game or at least keep the ball in front of him if its thrown in the dirt I'm gonna scream. Worst of all is that he sees less than 3 pitches per at bat, hitting in the clean-up spot. If I have to watch that craapppp for one more season, I don't know if I can be held responsible for what I might do.

Every piece of the player Benjie is, is the exact opposite, of the type of player I'd like to see on the Giants. To much ego, not enough talent.

It's sad too, because I think he could have been a fan favorite had he not been put into the worst possible position in the lineup by management. It just exploited his many weaknesses and put the spotlight on each of them.

No way Benjie fills Barry's shoes. None! But they did it anyway, for like 3 years! Everyone knew he wasn't designed to be where he was in the lineup, but they kept forcing the big huge round peg into the eye of a needle. He just didn't fit!

Seriously, I appreciate what he's done, but frankly, I can't watch another game with him in the 4 hole, scratch that, I can't watch another game if he's on the team period. Let's hope they don't re-sign him.

I wouldn't be too concerned about Molina being in the cleanup spot again next season.

I heard they're going to bring him back to hit leadoff.

Bengie at lead off would make all of my dreams come true. I think when he gets on base it's actually worse than when he doesn't.

I can see it now:

Bengie is somehow able to get on base, most likely a hbp, one where they check to see if he actually swung or not of course, which they ultimately find in the other teams favor, putting Bengie on.

Then the fun begins.

We watch as the Giants hit 4 consecutive gap shots. Bengie motors station to station. On the last one he finally low flies home, where I'm sure he'd still have to slide!

I couldn't even imagine if he tried to score from third on a "routine" base hit, we'd need to have a defibrillator positioned near home plate to keep him from arriving DOA.

With Bochy and Sabean (BS)expect more of the same...I see no change in the way this guy manages..I see no change in the way Sabean does business...he is all mouth and no action..

i dont want to watch another season with Molina in the Giants Uniform. Even if we were to get a #4 hitter, Bengie would get his feelings hurt and be upset at the team for "embarrassing" him by taking him out of the 4 hole. He did great for us, but the guy is one of the most sensitive baseball players ever. What ML player gets upset by the position of the player that gets drafted in the MLB Draft? Its rediculous.

I like Molina and wouldn't mind seeing him come back, but he's just not a #4 hitter. Maybe a #6 or #7 hitter. No higher than that in the lineup.

I don't understand why there was so much talk about Panda's weight and never Molina's. He can't run in part because he needs to lose 60 pounds.

I heard an announcer mention that Molina doesn't go out to the mound much. It's because it's to far for him to walk.

Uribe also is a good what?.. 30 or 40 pounds overweight? I mean what gives with this?

Don't they have weight limits in their contracts?

Can you imagine the improvement if those 3 each lost 30 or 40 pounds?

It's like... forgive the pun...the elephant in the room that hardly gets mentioned except for Panda.
It's unfair to the team and the fans and sets a bad example to kids in our overweight nation.

as much as I hate Moolina especially when he is in the 4 hole, I have to watch the Giants. Thats my team. I'm addicted. Lets hope Pablo cashes everyone in the 3 hole, before clog gets up. Thats all we can hope for.

I think the concern for the Panda is that we all want him to be a healthy, productive Giant for the next decade.

Molina's approaching the end of his career and his time with the Giants is up (maybe one more year) and Uribe was also a discard pickup for a single year.

I do agree that when talking about "fat" Giants, Molina and Uribe ought be mentioned along with The Panda, but it's also true that everybody cares a ton more about Pablo's future with the Giants then those other guys.

And he needs to lose weight, not suddenly, but slowly, steadily, over time.

Who's going to handle the pitching staff if he's gone? I hate seeing that big gut batting cleanup more than the next guy, because Molina blocks the team from getting a 35+ HR and 100+ RBI cleanup hitter. Even so, I doubt if Whiteside and Posey are ready to take over Molina's catching job, and Sabean just can't help himself from negotiating another bad veteran contract.

"Who's going to handle the pitching staff if he's gone?"

They may not hit as well, but everyone on the roster as a catcher "handles the pitching staff" better than Bengie.

I respect your right to an opinion but what is it that makes you think Whiteside or Posey is ready to handle calling a game or handling the pitching staff as well or better than Molina?

Posey has almost 0 experience so maybe Whiteside but either of them better that Molina?
Not yet anyway IMO.

I would love to hear your argument.

My argument is that Bengie only has one finger on his right hand!!!!!

I personally wouldn't have a problem with Eli being our starting catcher on opening day while Buster gets accustomed to calling games in Fresno. While obviously inferior to Molina offensively, Whiteside managed our staff well in 2009 and kept the Giants "IN THIS THING" down the stretch in September while Bengie was catching his breath for a week+ on the bench.

Here's to hoping another team will offer him 3 years and big baby Bengie will be seeing 5 pitches a night for someone else.

Hey mny,

"what is it that makes you think Whiteside or Posey is ready to handle calling a game or handling the pitching staff as well or better than Molina?"

Reason #1: Both can, and will, go to the side, across their bodies, and to their knees to block a breaking ball in the dirt.

Reason #2: Both are willing to use more than 1 finger when signaling for a pitch.

Reason #3: Posey has a much better arm.
