What you saw today is what you can expect from Joe. Altough his overall numbers aren't impressive, he's a 2nd half pitcher.

2009 6-4 3.62 ERA
2010 6-1 3.48 ERA
2011 0-0 2.57 ERA (Came back from DL, only pitched 7 innings)
2012 1-1 2.74 ERA

I thought he pitched well today...I even thought the ump was giving way more low strikes to Germano and squeezing Blanton a bit today. Gave up the one long ball but was solid for his first start with the team working with a new catcher and all.

I thought he was getting squeezed a bit too. He pitched we though.

Blanton, as well as just about every other Dodger pitcher, was squeezed harder than a lemon for lemonade today. I like Blanton. He works fast and is efficient when Dale Scott isn't behind the plate. He doesn't walk many, 19 coming into the game today. Yes, he gives up the long ball, but that's what you get for pitching strikes. I am glad to have him, and think he'll be a very good #3.

I thought the guy looked solid, went right after the hitters, wish he had gotten the win! .... glad we won! .... fun season so far!

He spent a lot of time the first few innings staring in at the umpire and WGN showed on pitch trax that most of the time Joe was right...

Kind of off topic but does Blanton look like he could be Brad Penny's little brother to anyone else but me? LOL

He definitely look a little Brad Penny-ish. Long socks and all. Joey Pancakes!

I had tix to the Phillies game on Friday, when Blanton was supposed to start for the Phillies and found out in the parking lot, while tailgating, that he was traded to the Dodgers. I'm probably one of the few that was sorry to see him go. He's a tremendous competitor and always pitches his best ball in the 2nd half.

It was a smart move to trade him, given we (Phillies) are going nowhere this year. Baring a 2nd half miracle by the Phitins, I'm a Dodger's fan come post season!

Oh, man, it's always sad to see a player you like get traded away. Especially when he was supposed to start that night. The Dodgers welcome all the support they can get. Glad to have you on board for this stretch run! I like Blanton. I think he will compliment this team very well.

On another note, I realize Victorino is off to a slow start, but he'll grow on you. He leaves it all on the field.

The day after Vic was traded, he took out a full page ad in the local Philly paper (at a cost of $35K), thanking Philly for the memories. He's a class act, I hope you guys will learn to appreciate his brand of baseball.

Yeah, some impatient people are ripping on Victorino. I hated him when he was a Phillie. Thing is, I already love the guy in Dodger blue. Back where he started. He's one of those guys you love to have on your team and hate to see when he's not.

He must have left it all on the field at Citizens Bank Park, unfortunately :(

He did? Good. Loney more than anybody needs to get his nonchalant butt to the stadium on time.

He should also call him out for out homering and knocking in more runs than Loney.
