"if we got kemp, mark ellis and ethier back and add victorino then yes, lee probably would be an acceptable replacement for loney."

That's the thing. I don't think they'd stop at Lee. I doubt Stan and Ned think he's going to be a difference maker. But he can be serviceable on this team.

I expect them to make a move at third base. There's no way they could let third stay the way it is when they're clearly desperate to fix first. Uribe and Kennedy at 3rd is even more difficult to watch than Rivera and Loney at first, at least for me.

I just hope they can get something done. Considering our trade chips they'll have to get creative and very lucky.

"sounds like we're playing hardball with him. good. i'd rather send gould to the phillies for victorino."

Like Donnie said, if he doesn't want to be here, then we don't want him here.

As for Victorino, there's no way the Phillies would give him up for Gould. That's when Zach Lee would probably come in. And to be honest, Victorino isn't a difference maker either, he's certainly not enough for what the Phillies are likely to ask for.

That's good. If he comes then he should produce.

I think there are different factors that are being negotiated 1) compensation to waive the no- trade clause 2) an extension 3) where he will bat in the order and playing time 4) possible compensation for higher taxes in California vs Texas for the remainder of the money that is owe to him- approximately $9 mil.

The Dodgers are doing the right thing, giving him an opportunity to play for a contender. Take it or leave it. Either way he is making his decision today, thankfully, we either get him or move on.

"I agree rather see a player like Hanley for Lee"

Word! On top of Lee they'd likely want our second and third best prospects, if that would even be enough....but for Hanley, I'd jump all over it.

Yeah, he's had some attitude problems. Supposedly he's been well behaved this year, with the whole changing positions thing and what not. But I'd still take him. Could be maturing, think he's around 27-28 now. Yup, men are still 15 years behind women on maturing, hehe.
