That's very good & surprising too. Proves you don't have to be muscular to have a great throwing arm. He must have a lot of his father in him.

I think weight lifting is the major reason we don't see as many outfielders with great throwing arms. Look at Ichiro. He's smaller than me. But he has a great throwing arm. Weight lifting constricts your muscles. I wish more ballplayers would catch on to that. Or at least do more stretching, like Suzuki does.

When a person weight lifts with decent weights it inevitably causes some microscopic damage of fibers which signals the body to adapt and repair and increase mass. Right after you workout is not the best time to perform because there is some damage and inflammation prior to repair and that's got to affect performance.

Just great.

Duke Snider had a competition with another player to see if they could throw a ball over the stadium. He hurt himself and got fined.

Which is probably why we have less all around players & more muscle pulls & surgeries.

True, however, Dee could not hit a ball let alone hit a home run to save his life, a 10 cent hitter, yet, a great base runner.

Dee needs a lot of practice getting hits, and to me that is why Maury Wills took years to get to the majors. Dee needs help hitting.

That is true, and as you know, The Duke could hit home runs while Dee has a problem getting singles. Dee needs to work on hitting to be major league material. His speed is great, however, as you know again, Dee needs to get on base other than walks.

That's a great video. I love the way after Gordon throws the ball and it lands in the 1st row of the outfield he giggles like a little kid and takes off running. That was just awesome.
