lol! ran into this on the phillies board. don't know who posted it, but they didn't take it too well...

perhaps even funnier was the premature ad run in the philadelphia inquirer by macy's congratulating the phillies on repeating as world champs! it still might happen, but sounds like a good way to jinx your team...

Hi Frida-

>but they didn't take it too well...<

Of course not because their fans don't, chant Yankees S.uck, leave the game early, boo their players or throw objects at the opposing players.
Have you noticed the empty seats in the late innings when the Yanks were up?
Did you hear the chants, Yankees S.uck?

Their board and posters are just a bunch of hypocrites.

It's such a wonderful thing to see the Yankees up on these clowns.

Afternoon Frida, i think more than a jinx it made the stankees made and more driven than ever. That along with, i think it was Rollins, saying the Phils will win in 5 or 6. At any rate i would be a little angry at the arrogance if i was a new yorker.

I think it's quite poetic to have "money thrown" at Yankees players. I wonder if Steinbrenner(s) said, "Tu Che" when they saw the incident.

Frida--how's it going?

Since you mentioned being on the Phillies board, I wonder if you found as much satisfaction in seeing the all-out assault of Yankee trolls over there? What about all the criticism Phillies phans have taken from those trolls for being bandwagon jumpers who didn't care about the team before a couple of years ago? Do you not feel a certain sense of "troll karma" after what our board was like the last couple of weeks? It certainly doesn't make up for being dominated in the NLCS. But there is a part of me that has somewhat enjoyed seeing them have to take what they dished out. To that I say--LOL!

Hi Frida!

sd, you said exactly what I have been thinking about karma, and the phillies getting a taste of their own medicine. I suppose that the experience of getting trolled is especially hard when you are trying to choke down a big serving of crow. I hope they get another dish of it tonight :)

I was struck by the booing of Hamels when he was lifted in game 4. What kind of fans would boo the hero of the 2008 World Champions? They are the epitome of no - class.

The kind of fans today that would probably boo Orel Hershiser just as quick. Maybe the core group of real fans has not changed so much, but there is a group of fans who will cheer the hero one day and boo him the next for going 1-4.

While it's pathetic, it did not surprise me in the least. These people were known for routinely booing Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt whenever he was in a slump.

Hey, not only that, but did you notice the empty seats in Game 1 in the 8th and 9th at Yankee Stadium? So much for this "East Coast fans are the epitome of true fans, blah-blah-blah." They never leave early--rrrright! In fact, one poster not only made that point but said, "especially during a playoff game."

Well--we've seen otherwise.

Yup, at least we have the excuse of a 1-2hour jammed parking lot and traffic as an excuse to leave early. The East Coasters walk out of the park, jump on a subway, and are home in 30 minutes tops.

I stayed near JFK airport in NY and got home from a Yankees game in 40 minute. If that was L.A. I would still be in the parking lot.

Philly fans also beat up Santa Claus; Philly fans threw ice balls at the Dallas Cowboys in the late 1990's while Jimmy Jones and the Cowboys ran for their lives. Great fans, and to have another WS championship in Philadelphia is unjust.

No doubt Yankee fans can behave as Philly fans which tells me how low people can behave just for a kids game.
