Is it any WONDER why teams try to load up on bombers? Why 220 Ks is OK if you hit 30-plus HRs?

It's the Earl Weaver formula for winning baseball.

But it is just no fun to watch.

"NL baseball" isn't usually like this. But they keep building smaller ballparks and signing bigger baseball players, and making the strike zone smaller and smaller.

The end result is games like this. And this is something not to like about baseball.

Boy, I miss the hit and run, the double steal. The fleet footed sure handed 2B-short stop combo.

ESPN had a show on the other night very late at night about baseball in the 60's and 70's back when it was still a game.
Fan loyalty, player loyalty and club loyalty counted. I wish it was still a game instead of a business.

It was always a business. The difference is back then only the owners really made any coin. The players didn't make all that much.
